The fight against pathogenic germs and viruses has not only been the focus since the corona pandemic.

There are different approaches to winning the fight in the long run, not all of which are scientifically based.


A promising approach here is certainly the prevention of so-called smear infection. A robust paint is the best basis for killing the germs with the help of various metal ions.


We have been researching antibacterial surfaces / colors intensively since 2012 in order to be able to offer solutions for pathogenic germs such as MRSA bacteria in the medically or hygienically sensitive area of the food industry. The beginning of 2020 came for both the Humanity as well as a new, great challenge for us: the CORONA virus!


However, in order to not only get an antibacterial response from an antibacterial surface like our AURA coating, but also achieve an antiviral effect, a lot more effort is required. Our approach combines established silver ion technology with two other metal ion donors that are known to effectively fight viruses as well as other dangerous threats such as various pathogenic fungi. So ideally we don't just get one antiviral surface, but also a so-called "omniprotective protective varnish" .
